To mask or not to mask? Now that is the question. Since the onset of COVID, riding on the ebbs and flows of the pandemic, Londoners have demonstrated wild swings in their attitudes towards the virus.
With their relatively libertarian positions on the global scale, Britons have overtime been reputed as a ‘spreader’ nation, featuring the Prime Minister’s theory on ‘herd immunity’, anti-vaxxers’ weekly mass protests, and frequent sightings of maskless large crowds living life as usual.
This is a photo essay documenting how London appears to have been naturally disposed to co-exist with the virus since day one, despite dramatic oscillations in public discourse from desolation to fury to hysteria and all the way back.
